After graduating from Fayetteville State University and moving back to Los Angeles, he was asked to his friend Laudiano’s recording studio to get a phone charger. When Laudiano challenged him to rap over a beat, Blueface accepted the challenge and started working on his first song, “Deadlocs,” which Laudiano produced. His first full-length project, Famous Cryp, was made available in June 2018. He published his second EP, Two Coccy, on SoundCloud and Spotify in September 2018, after the song and EP helped him gain a local following in California.

The music video for Blueface’s song “Respect My Cryppin” was published on WorldstarHipHop’s YouTube channel on October 8, 2018.
