Santiago is also a chief executive officer (C.E.O.) of his imprint, Militainment Business. His net worth is estimated to be $2 million as of the 2024 update.

N.O.R.E. Net Worth & Career Life

Santiago’s career took off in 1995 when he formed the duo Capone-N-Noreaga (C-N-N) with a buddy and fellow Queens-based rapper Capone, under the nickname Noreaga (after Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega) (whom he met while serving time in prison). In 1996, they signed with Penalty Recordings, and their debut album, The War Report, was published in 1997. The War Report was a commercial and critical success for the pair, establishing them as well-known hip-hop artists.

The album was praised for using old New York City hip hop’s “traditional Grimey boom-bap” sound, fading out at the time in favor of a more futuristic sound. The singles “Illegal Life,” “Closer,” and “T.O.N.Y. (Top of New York)” all charted on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and Tracks list, while the album reached #21 on the Billboard 200. After the album’s release, Capone was condemned to prison, leaving Noreaga to pursue a solo career and record an album on his own. N.O.R.E., Noreaga’s first solo studio album, was released in 1998. The backronym “Niggaz on (the) Run Eatin'” was utilized in the title, which was a truncation of the artist’s name.

The album was even more successful than the duo’s debut, ranking at #3 on the Billboard 200 and earning the Recording Industry Association of America’s platinum certification (R.I.A.A.). Nas, Kool G Rap, Big Pun, and Busta Rhymes, all from New York, make guest appearances on the album. It also includes Music made by then-up-and-coming producers The Neptunes and Swizz Beatz and a distinct production approach to The War Report, incorporating the current futuristic vibe. The Neptunes produced the popular single “Superthug,” which charted at #36 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart. One of the Neptunes’ first notable productions, along with Mase’s hit “Lookin’ At Me,” was this song.

Melvin Flynt – Da Hustler, Noreaga’s second solo album, was a moderate success, hitting the top 10 of the Billboard 200 and earning gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. “Oh No,” the album’s most popular track (produced by The Neptunes), peaked at #49 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and Tracks chart. In 1999, Al Capone was released from prison.

In 2000, the two began recording songs together again and released their second C-N-N album. The album, The Reunion, was critically panned and failed to match the duo’s debut or Noreaga’s solo releases regarding economic success. “With The Reunion, Capone-N-Noreaga takes a step backward,” AllMusic reviewer Matt Conaway said of the album. After that, the band would take a break and not release another album until 2009.

N.O.R.E. teamed up with Capone in 2009 to record Channel 10, their third studio album, which debuted at #136 on the Billboard 200. The War Report 2, Capone-N-fourth Noreaga’s album, was released in 2010.

“Hood Pride,” featuring Faith Evans, was the album’s lead single. Busta Rhymes, a fellow American rapper with whom N.O.R.E. has previously cooperated, announced on his Twitter account in June 2011 that he had officially signed N.O.R.E. to his newly created record company Conglomerate Records. Between 2009 and 2011, N.O.R.E. collaborated with D.J. E.F.N. to present Militainment Crazy Raw Radio on Sirius XM. This moniker gave equal weight to N.O.R.E.’s Militainment brand, E.F.N.’s Crazy Hood, and 66 Raw, the Sirius XM channel that carried the show. Santiago announced in early 2013 that he would alter his moniker again, this time to P.A.P.I. (Acronym for Power Always Proves Intelligence), eliciting conflicting emotions from his admirers. He released Student of the Game on April 16, 2013, and revealed shortly after that a sequel would be released as his next album.

Melvin Flynt II: Da Final Hustle, his next album, will be his final record, he informed MTV on September 27, 2013. He indicated that he will no longer tour or release solo albums to focus on his role as a music entrepreneur and C.E.O. “New and last album in July!!!” Santiago tweeted on October 30, 2015, followed by “Melvin Flynt 2?” Alternatively, N.O.R.E. 2
