Yo Gotti released a succession of independent albums between 2000 and 2006, including From Da Dope Game 2 Da Rap Game (2000), Self-Explanatory (2001), Life (2003), and Back 2 Da Basics (2006).

Yo Gotti’s major label first studio album, Live From The Kitchen, was released on January 10, 2012, after multiple delays. The original first single from the album, “5 Star,” was released on May 20, 2009. The song reached number 79 on the Hot 100, number 19 on US R&B, and number 11 on US Rap.

Lil Wayne is featured in “Women Lie, Men Lie.” On December 11, 2009, the album’s second single was released. The song reached number 81 on the Hot 100, 22 on R&B in the United States, and 12 on Rap in the United States.
